The contract award

Dubai Holding announced an AED5 billion construction contract with China State Construction Engineering Corporation Middle East on 9 September 2026. The package covers its new headquarters and Jumeirah Residences Emirates Towers. The residential development comprises 754 homes across two towers. [1]

Two designs, separate schedules

The official announcement identifies SCDA Architects as the designer of the residences, with handover scheduled for 2030. SOM designed Dubai Holding’s headquarters, which is scheduled to open in 2029. Its circular plan incorporates an open-air atrium, courtyard and terraces. The contract value covers both projects rather than the residential towers alone. [1]

Engineering perspective

Editorial analysis: a combined award makes project interfaces worth following, including access, logistics and the sequencing of shared site works. Later technical releases may explain the structural systems and construction methods. This announcement establishes a contractor appointment and planned delivery dates, not a topping-out milestone or a completed height record.
