Contract awarded for a 170-metre tower

STRABAG announced on October 21 that a consortium it leads with TKT Engineering has been appointed general contractor for Roma Tower in Warsaw. The planned residential building will rise 170 metres and contain 357 apartments. The turnkey contract is worth approximately €200 million, with construction scheduled to take 50 months. [1]

Juvenes-Projekt developed the architectural concept under Jacek Świderski, with Pininfarina also participating in the project. The site is at the intersection of Nowogrodzka and Emilia Plater streets. STRABAG reports Fitwel certification for the development and says it is targeting BREEAM certification; the latter remains a goal, not a completed award. [1]

Editorial analysis: A general-contractor appointment establishes delivery responsibility, but it does not demonstrate foundation completion or progress on the structural frame. The announcement gives no structural-system specification, so engineering milestones will require subsequent project-team evidence.
