A note on these measurements

Wikidata contains other height values. The ranking uses the explicitly identified architectural height in the linked measurement source; tip, roof and proposal heights are not interchangeable. ENGINEERING DOSSIER

How 30 Hudson Yards works

Project evidence, construction records and the limits of what is documented. A named consultant’s role is kept separate from the architect, contractor and local engineer of record.

A platform assembled in pieces

KPF describes 15 prefabricated sections forming Edge, anchored to the east and south sides of 30 Hudson Yards. An elevated cantilever makes fabrication tolerances and installation sequence part of the structural problem.

Surface quality at the scale of a skyline

Reflective stainless-steel panels were checked for flatness before the assembly was dismantled and shipped. Angled glass panels enclose the perimeter. These details explain the observation platform, not the full lateral system of the office tower.

Reading the vertical dimensions

The directory records 387.1 metres of architectural height and 73 above-ground floors. The highest occupied level has not been confirmed here. Measurement source ↗

Dividing architectural height by floor count would include the crown and any unequal floor heights. It cannot be used as a typical floor-to-floor dimension, a measure of slenderness or a structural design input.
